Course Description:

Kinesiology Taping Levels 1-3 presents the taping strategies that make the practitioner proficient in kinesiology taping techniques as well as the must-know concepts for skin safety, preparation, application, removal, and contraindications. The course is 25% lecture and 75% hands on lab-style learning to make sure all participants feel 100% confident with their new tool. Content includes taping for chronic pain, acute injury and pain, posture optimization, lymphatic flow, sports performance, orthopedic corrections, muscle balance, pregnancy, and many other situations wherein taping can be useful. We will also cover advanced strategies utilizing kinesiology taping in combination with other taping and therapy techniques. This course is intended for manual therapy professionals such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, athletic trainers, etc.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand how kinesiology tape compliments and differs from other types of tape and treatments used in rehab and sports.
  • Learn the unique qualities and applications of kinesiology tape. 
  • Review physiology, neurology, and anatomy as it relates to kinesiology taping and functional movement. 
  • In a lab setting, learn and apply additional kinesiology taping techniques for swelling, muscle function, pain, and functional movement.
  • Learn and develop additional techniques for commonly affected body areas, common orthopedic injuries, and neurological conditions.

Instructor Biography:

Dr. Jon Eberle completed his chiropractic doctorate work at Life University with an emphasis on functional neurology and chiropractic biophysics. In practice he has a focus on how kinesiology tape is used to best affect the nervous system for optimal clinical results with patients. Dr. Eberle has served as the Director of Education for a major kinesiology taping manufacture. Dr. Eberle has taught his taping program over 200 times in 10+ countries and worked with athletes from many sports at the professional and collegiate level. His program does not give you a list of applications to memorize, but instead provides you with the technique and strategy to utilize the benefits of kinesiology tape for neuromusculoskeletal conditions and beyond. 

Who should attend?

PTs, ATCs, LMTs, OTs, DCs and other medical practitioners will do very well in the course. Less than 50% of the content of this course deals with evaluation, therefore course registration is also open to COTAs, PTAs, and CAs.
